Can I go to the chapel in Jeans?

Hey Everybody,

So I am planning a wedding, and although exciting to think about, it also often induces a little stress (a.k.a panic attacks). I mean it’s not like I have to carry a brown paper bag to breath into  . . . yet. I like picking out flowers and the venue, but I absolutely hate trying on wedding dresses.

First of all I am not the skinniest girl. I do not have to be removed from my home via crane either.  I do not shop in the plus size department, but yet barley any of the wedding dresses I have tried on even fit. I have been working out and trying to eat healthy, but I don’t think I will ever be a size four again, and I am ok with that (I still have the pictures beotches!).

But it does bother me after all this time finding the right person (love you M) . . . (stop gaging) I can’t even enjoy finding a dress to marry him in. A woman at a bridal store yesterday said to me well this “is only half the dress we’ll need”!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The funny thing about this is this woman weighed more than me! WTF? Also I have a theory that this store had wide mirrors because I looked odd. (My skinny Sister in law backed me up on this).

So I shall continue my conquest to find the loveliest dress ever made to shove my booty in for my wedding day, until then I am boycotting dresses like the plague. Maybe I could wear something else ”bridal” like white sweatpants, or jeans, or maybe a very pretty white robe!  Have a good day peeps.

Will Anyone Snitch on Blagojevich?

Hello All,

So my corrupt beautiful town of Chicago is all in arms over Rod Blagojevich being arrested. I for one do not know all the information yet, but I will tell you one thing, M has been saying he is dirty for months. If even M thinks he ain’t up to no good then then good lord this man has been blatant in his pursuit of POWER.

There is a request of citizens to come forward to give information that might help the case against Rod and it will definitely be interesting to see what comes about from this request. I wonder just how many people the Blagojevichs have leaned on to get what then want.

Do you have information???

Blog Experiment #1

So my sister came up with this random list O’ questions and I gave her  a list for her blog (mine were was sweeter). To check hers out go to my links and check Ethereal Girl out.

1. What are your top three vices?

Chocolate. I like it a lot (like I might push down a small kid to get to it, and then I would feel bad, but that’s probably just guilt from all that sweet chocolate I just ate).

John and Kate +8. I love this show from TLC it’s about a family with tons of kids. It makes me want to be a mom. (It also makes me want to take a nap when I see how much work sextuplets and twins are).

and sleep. I love sleep, and I feel as though I never get enough of it. I love our huge bed, and our sweet sheets.

2. What’s the best meal you’ve ever cooked?

I have cooked a lot of stuff, but meal wise probably the Cornish hen faux Thanksgiving dinner for M and I last year. (Faux meaning it happened the week after Thanksgiving) Tastes just like it sounds . . . Delicious. I am more of a baker so I would say my creme brulees or my kit kat mouse cake.

3. Are you ever going to sketch something for me?

As soon as you come see my house.

4. Any thoughts on standardized health care?

I think it is a great idea, only the other parts of our country are so screwed up I am not sure it would function properly right now. I do know that I have insurance and I still have shelled out a crap load of money this year for medical treatment, so I vote yes to a plan that will help people who do not have health care, and help us people who are paying for doctor and drug company employee’s summer homes in the Hampton’s. It’s simple Obamanomics :)

5. Name the best and worst advice you’ve received.

Best advice was to make people treat me as the great person I am (TOOT TOOT, sorry my horn went off). This advice was given to me because of all the asses I dated. Someone who cares about you calls, and shows it. Thanks KQ

The worst advice, was to start smoking. My love for cigs took seven almost eight years to quit and I still get sad thinking about how much money I spent, and how grossed I must have smelled (nast). I still miss reflecting!

6. Who is your celebrity crush?

Oh I love me some Edward from Twilight, I also think Stephen Straight is very good looking. (check out The Coven, movie). Other than that M is still the best looking man around.

7. What food did you like as a kid that you no longer like as an adult?

I think I went through food phases. I used to love Tomatoes and then for years I hated them, now I like them again. I loved Bologna like it was my best friend, and now I am not so fond.

8. Why do you talk so fast?

I don’t realize that I am talking that fast, but I reason it to that I am thinking a lot and have a lot to say so I try to get it out fast. Also you and R (older brother) used to beat on me so I talked when I could as a kid :) .

9. Did you ever attempt to call Jeff Gerard?

Your an ass. and No

10. What surprises you the most?

That I am this far in life. I remember thinking what my life would be like and so far I am pretty on track (minus the shitty economy). I try to remember to enjoy the now because it goes quick.

Engaged. . . Woo Hoo!

So HG has gotten engaged. M took me to as a surprise to SIN CITY BABY!

Now many of you may be thinking WTF SIN CITY? But let me give some back story. I have always liked the idea that on my first wedding anniversary I would high tail ti to Vegas and have a drunken renewal wedding in the little wedding chapel. So M being the fabulous thinker he is thought that this would be the perfect reason to come back at one year.

So As we walked down the street we came to the Bellagio Hotel, which if you have never been to Vegas is the Hotel with the fountains out front . . . .

Ahhhh.....

Ahhhh.....

As we reached the Bellagio Hotel, a lot of people were waiting for the fountains to start (it’s a very cool sight. So we decided to watch, as soon as the music started and the water started spraying I felt a tap on my shoulder and when I turned around M was down on one knew. After asking him if he was sure, and securing the ring on my finger. We kissed about a million and a half times and celebrated with Dinner at monami gabi in the Paris Hotel.

It was an amazing night, and for all you ladies out there I got some sweet Bling too!

I AM GETTING MARRIED, WHOO HOO!!!!!!

My Dad, My Hero

So I haven’t blogged in forever, so pretty much only Kelly has been affected by this. These past few weeks have been hectic. My father who is seriously the coolest dude alive had a heart attack recently. As if this didn’t scare the crap out of me enough, he had a second heart attack last Wednesday which sent him into emergency bypass surgery.

After hours of waiting we were given the good news my dad was okay. I learned a lot from this experience, first that  telling people you love them is important. Every single day, you really do not know when your times up. Second waiting room couches are not suitable for sleeping no matter what people tell you. Some people are truly amazing, special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who took such good care of my dad. I will never forget you.

My Dad is home now resting an recouping. He is kicking heart surgeries ass.

The perfect Christmas Gift . . . Of All Time . . .

Good Morning all,

So the search has begun for the best Christmas gifts ever. Due to my life partner I have a lot of additional people on my list and I am obsessive about finding the right gift for each person. It is always great to receive something nice, by my joy comes from the reaction of someone who truly loves what I gave them. I love seeing them smile or laugh at the item I hand picked just for them.

I have given some odd gifts over the years. One year mys sister and I took over the tradition of “Santa Piles” (small piles of gifts like a calender, makeup, basketball etc for each person) we gave my dad a bottle of mustard in his pile. I have also been able to give people some great gifts. Last year I made both of my parents over sized quilts with pictures of our family screen all over it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

The challenge is a little harder this year because I have set the bar at a ridiculously high level. I want this to be a Christmas to remember. I am trying to accomplish my own miracle on Quincy Bridge Ct. I already have gotten some gifts that will knock peoples socks off. I can’t wait to see my niece and nephew open gifts with our family as well as M.

Every time a bell rings . . . .

Every time a bell rings . . . .

Each person is different. My brother is generally the hardest to “please”, but M runs a close second. Now when I say this I mean that when these men open a gift JOY does not shoot out of them. They ponder the gift, smile, and say thanks. To this day I am still waiting for the gift that knocks my brothers socks off. This just might be the year.

I know HIM!!!!!!

I know HIM!!!!!!

Any special gifts on your list this year. If you could ask Santa for anything what would it be?

Wisconsin Dells Closed back in 5 Minutes!

Morning all,

Yay!

Yay!

So I had a fun weekend, Friday night we had dinner with my Dad for his birthday at the Yard House in Glenview (good spinach dip). Then I decided to surprise M and take him up to Wisconsin Dells for a night this weekend as a little getaway for his birthday which was last week. We had the pleasure of my sister in law (married to my brother) and their two kids (Aidan and Delaney) joining us! We stayed at the Wilderness.( www.wildernessreosrt.com) They had multiple indoor water parks so we splashed and frolicked and then came home Sunday morning (driving to the Dells is less fun than sleeping in the backseat FYI).

There was only one small problem. . . I had decided that because M had never been up to the Dells I would take him to all of the places my family and I had frequented during the many trips we tookwhen I was younger (Yay Nostalgia). So for dinner Saturday we drove on over to Mexicali Rose, an amazing Mexican restaurant which serves kiddie cocktails in a boot shaped glass and it was CLOSED. . . Joy. So ok no big deal we ate at Moose Jaw (got my kiddie cocktail there!) which was very good and the kids had a good time, except when Delaney refused to put on her coat and then cried when she got cold (sorry I didn’t listen more when I was little Mom). Next I figured we could stop at the Indian Trading Post. A store with everything from kids toys and trinkets to moccasins and turquoise jewelry. I remember many a jaunt there as a child and I had planned to relive this, but unfortunately they were CLOSED too . . . joy. Then we decided oh well maybe the Deer Park will be open, not a chance. That placed was sealed up like Fort Knox.

So I know what your thinking no worries because we could still enjoy an awesome homemade breakfast at the world famous Paul Bunyan’s! But you would be wrong because as we approached I realized not one car graced the parking lot, and the glorious sign stated the sad truth. Paul Bunyan was CLOSED until next season. So did this ruin my weekend? No I got to have a good time with everyone, and those things will all be there next year when we go again (DURING OPEN SEASON!) We had a blast with the kids and I think little trips like this are something they will remember too.

P.s. Shout out to the Wilderness who gave me a free upgrade into the Monty Suite, Gracia’s!

P.s Wilderness WTF why haven’t you called me back about the blanket we left in our room?

P.s. I’m sorry I just liked that blanket, thanks.

Proposition 8 Effective, Slippery Slope

Good Morning Everyone,

It was an interesting day yesterday. A lot of good press for Barack Obama and for our country. There are some things I would like to address today. Some comments were sent to me yesterday. Some great and thank you for all of them, even one in particular who called me a liberal (better than a bitch I guess) anti American supporter of a racist new President.

I remember one night about three months ago we gathered for dinner at my father’s home. My Uncle as well as a few other members of my family were present and the discussion (add 3 bottles of wine) of Politics arose. This topic is not discussed very often with us because mixing wine with words is never a good combination (it seems as if the older generations were taught a political discussion cannot be a pleasant thing), but we pushed forth and my sister and I who are both supporters of Barack Obama were asked a question. . .

“If John McCain was elected to be the next President of the United States , would he be your President?”

We both immediately answered emphatically “YES”. Because a lot of people have lost sight of what our country is REALLY about. We stand for unity, not Republicans or Democrats or members of the Green party. This country was formed to give us freedoms that weren’t given to people in other parts of this world. I wanted to elect Batrack Obama because I think he stands for a lot of things I want our country to be, but if John McCain had clinched this election I would have supported him and hoped that he could change this country around. He would have been MY President.

Theproblem with this is a lot of people do not feel this way. They are angry, and upset that “their” candidate did not win. A lot of people supported hate instead of Gay marriage in this election. After all of this hoopla I officially have become a Gay Rights Activist. You heard it here first. I am a conservative when it comes to certain things (I know it shocks you), but when it comes to basic human rights I will not falter. this amendment must be reviewed. How can we say yes to freedom, while encouraging the repression of people?

How can people spew hate towards others because they don’t share the same views? Here is a little piece of advice . . . Stop hating the differences you encounter in others, because it is this that makes us question, and challenge, and push forth for a new, and and better future. What would happen if nothing had ever changed? We would have slaves, and I would be married off with five kids and no freedom or voice (Ha).

Focus on building our country back into the Nation it should be. Like our new President -Elect has said now is a time for unity. We need to come together. I do not want to fight wars on our own soil, while we have been forced to fight them overseas. Embrace the differences between you and your neighbors, love your children, educate yourself, let people live in a world where we do not shun anyone because of race, or gender, or sexual preference.

And for all of you that claim this will be a slippery slope. . .  I think we are smart enough to say no when a man decides to marry a goat or a woman wants to marry a pair of shoes. We are talking about basic RIGHTS, and if I told you tomorrowthat you were not allowed to enter through the front door of my home because that door is reserved for my homosexual friends would that affect you?

Live your life with the pursuit of Happiness.
