Busy, Busy, as a Bee

Hello again,

Things are simply crazy here in the land of Lincoln. I have been running around filling custom orders like crazy (yay!). I have been spending a lot of time with my family which has been great, but I have not been doing a lot of blogging… not so good.  So I figured I would tie myself to my chair until I finished even a short one!

I have been making new flowering ring bearer pillows for summer! I started thinking how much my past customers have loved them  and so I thought why not make some different sizes and price points! Here are a few pics!

I still get a thrill from seeing them photographed! Each pillow is a little piece of me and seeing that in a finished product feels amazing.  So until I get a little more time to get back here and do some real talking, this is all you get!

I saw this stunning “chandelier” online today, it was designed by Benoit Vieubled. The globe cluster was created from 15 vintage globes and it created a lovely soft glow in this stairwell. I would love, love, love to have this in my house. The world is a beautiful thing!

 

 

How awesome is this! I truly like to think I am a creative person, but this is art! I could definitely spend hours just watching them glow.

After the Storm….

So the Blizzard of 2011 is over… at least for Chicago. We have dug out and minus one small fender bender we are getting through unscathed!

Today it’s back to work and to the studio which has moved!!! I am only moving from one room to another, but it’s an exciting step to begin the renovations on our basement and eventually the studio space to.  We are going to be renovating both rooms over the next few months so as you can guess I am super excited about picking paint samples and finally putting up all of my awesome knickknacks I have been saving! My only challenger so far is fitting everything into this new space! It’s about half the size as the main room I was working in before, so organization has got to be amped up a bit.

I have been lusting over some new things I absolutely NEED (want) for my new studio!!! I had to share….

A New Year is upon Us….

Hello again!

Sad to say I have been a little bit of a deadbeat blogger these past few weeks. I have been busy trimming the tree, roasting a huge turkey, hanging stockings with care, and sewing the biggest quilt ever for my lovely husband (still a work in progress). My Christmas was amazing! We saw almost all of our family, and I received some pretty amazing gifts including this gorgeous necklace from my sister!

Well now as the new year approaches I have thrown myself fully into brainstorming new accessories, bouquets, corsages, pillows and more!! I can’t wait to get started, when I get an idea it’s like a horse with blinders… I am one directional for sure! Have I mentioned I love what I do!!!

This week will be brainstorming and creating, next week hopefully some new items will start making appearances in my store. For tonight I will procrastinate for a few more hours before I got to bed 🙂 . Hope your Holidays are wonderful, till next time

Doily Madness!!!

hello again!

So life has been super busy lately! We have had some weddings, one which Mike and I were both in (congrats Chris & Maria!). Fall has moved in here in Chicago and I am gearing up for winter. So along with breaking out the sweaters, I have also been super busy creating and making so many new items! I have been posting may new listings but I thought I would share some pictures of my new stuff!!! I love love love all of these!!!

I started by hand dying paper doilys!

So much fun to look at….but they take a lot of time to dye each one…totally worth it! I have been having so much fun coming up with ideas to take these paper petals and create something spectacular! So here are a few things I have come up with so far. I do have more, but I can only photograph so much! I am working on doing a little bit at a time… Mike wasn’t a fan of me coming to bed at three in the morning. 🙂

Things have been so busy lately I cannot wait until our upcoming vacation! We will be cruising through the Caribbean!!! Also I have a lovely surprise coming for all my readers (your out there aren’t you)! And please do me a favor…if you want to re-post these pictures, please ask as they are my property, THANK YOU!!!

The Great Carb Depression….

Hello again,

So it has been an interesting couple of weeks! I decided to go back on the no carb diet, but this time I am going to the gym five days a week …waiting for shock and awe…. so far prognosis is good. I am working out like crazy and I am also eating a lot less and a lot smarter. I have eliminated all carbs except tortillas, and some fruit. I also am eating no sweets…which for me is like trying to not breath air. I am definitely missing a lot of my favorites….

Long story short here is a list of foods I have bread craving in no particular order…

Funfetti cupcake

garlic bread

chocolate cake

french fries

buffalo wings

toast

bruschetta on french bread

really any kind of potatoes

Now words are not as fun so here are a few pictures I’ve been drooling over on Etsy.

At the end of two and a half weeks I have not cheated once (unless you count the food porn)! I have lost 11 lbs. so far…so it’s paying off, and I have to say I feel great(with the exception of the carb cravings)!

So wish me luck…a long time to go!
