Chicago…. my Kind of Town

As many know I am from Chicago, but not really. I am from a small town on the border of  Illinois that no one has every heard of so when on vacation I say “I’m from Chicago!’ Now although I didn’t grow up in the city I have spent a lot of time there. As almost every person does, I have a very soft spot for my “hometown” and I thought today I might post a few lovely pics to show Chi town some love…

this last picture I saw today on http://www.weddinggawker.com and I had to share. It was taking at a place called Salvage One. in Chicago. Lovely, sweet home Chicago,

Till next time,

P.s. I do not own these photos nor do I claim too (that be kinda crappy). I found these lovely images courtesy of google images and weddinggawker.com

Not Old Mc’Donalds Barn….

Hello again,

Lately I have been dreaming of weddings and receptions in old barns. I love the vintage aspect of it and the simplicity of the setting. The natural beauty of any barn’s architecture is a wonderful backdrop for your special day. Most people think barns are country settings, but I find them to be very classic, earthy, rustic, and very romantic. I put together some beautiful photos that I think showcase this amazing backdrop….

Till next time,

Tell Someone You Love Them Today

Hello again,

Today is a rough one.  I found out today a friend of mine passed away last night. She was 38 years old. She found out less than a week ago she had cancer. I feel so terrible that a life could be cut short so quickly. All we ever worry about is are the bills paid on time, getting the yard work done, making sure we go to church in Easter and Christmas. I feel like people forget to say thank you for everyday we get. I have a very hard time with death. I don’t know I can survive in a world without my parents or siblings or friends. When you lose someone I think survival mode kicks in. In the sense that I don’t want to waste any days fighting about laundry or worrying about needing a bigger home. Life is what you make of it while your here, and many of us won’t get to be here for as long as we’d like too. Take the time to tell someone you love them today. Even if it’s your mother or even your pet. Express how you feel because you never know when it might be the last meeting or phone call, or kiss goodbye.

A small prayer to my friend K. I will miss seeing her and I hope her passing brings renewed appreciation for every day.

Till Next Time,

MHG
